The event will take place simultaneously at four (4) street corners in Los Angeles and Inglewood from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Groups will assemble to bring their Silver Lining of Hope (SLOH) Crusade Inc. message to the street. The SLOH is a 501c3 organization devoted to bringing awareness of violence and crime in Los Angeles and surrounding communities, which affects everyone?"especially children, youth and young adults.
On November 14, 2009 more than 30 pastors participated. More than 3400 ribbons were given and 600 people pledged their support for the cause. The symbol of the crusade is a black ribbon with a silver stripe in the middle that reflects a silver lining of hope behind every dark cloud of crime.
The Silver Lining of Hope Crusade offers alternatives to gang involvement and networks with other organizations. Former gang members have already joined the crusade and become mentors to encourage others to live a better life.
This year, the event will take place at the following locations:
Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard, Rodeo Drive and La Brea Avenue, Centinela Avenue and La Brea Avenue, Century Boulevard and Crenshaw Boulevard. Organizers said if we don't take action in the streets to suppress violent crime, it will continue to snuff the lives out of children, youth and their families. Be part of the solution, come and get involved.
