Whitmore Honored as New President of West Coast Black Publishers Association

Globe publisher Vernon Whitmore was honored by the California State Store and Tavern Owners Association (CAL-PAC) and the Black American Political Action Committee (BAPAC) during a reception on Feb. 3 in Oakland.

Whitmore was recently named the president of the West Coast Black Publishers Association.

Those in attendance at the event included host Geoffrey Peete, Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia, Alameda County Supervisor Keith Carson, former Oakland Raider Clem Daniels, West Contra Costa County School Board member Tony Thurmond and local commercial developer Eddie Orton.
