The Contra Costa College Foundation is requesting donations to pay for Wali Wright’s relocation to Southern California.
Wright was a Contra Costa College football player who was critically injured during the first game of the season. The injury he sustained left him paralyzed and required multiple operations. Wright is currently being treated at the Kentfield Rehabilitation and Specialty Hospital.
Wright’s family lives in Pasadena and must travel from there to Northern California to see him. He would like to be near his mother and immediate family members and has asked to be transferred to a care facility near them. The CCC insurance policy that covered most of his medical bills has expired, and there is no additional money to pay the $7,000 transportation bill.
The CCC Foundation has donated $3,500 and is now seeking donations from the community for the other half.
To learn more, contact Linda Cherry at (510) 235-7800, ext. 4566. Mail donations to the Contra Costa College Foundation, P.O. Box 6305, Richmond, CA 94806.
